Our Church Newsletter

April 2011
Volume II - Number II

SPRING – The rebirth of all nature – Love kindled – everything sheds, and starts anew – a time to plant in HOPE – a young man’s thoughts turn to love, as do maidens, as well as the rest of us! The greatest thought, though, is the celebration of our Lord and Savior’s RESURRECTION after giving His life for OUR sins so that we can join him in heaven and live forever.

There has been much activity in the church recently. The much needed seating by the addition of new pews in front and back in the Sanctuary necessitated considerable work on the carpet. Our parsonage is done and Assistant Pastor Ryan and his wife Amanda have moved in. We are in the process of finding addition hymnals and have purchased additional Bibles for the pews. Our classrooms are getting new pencil sharpeners. The parking lot next to the parsonage, though not completely finished, is useable and will save a number of our members from having to trek in from the square. And, due to the increase of our children’s route, we need another van. Praise the Lord!

Charlotte Gardener has retired from her many years of loyal Christian service to our church in her office of treasurer. Martie Novack has stepped up and stepped in to fill those shoes so recently vacated. Mary Lynn Cunningham will serve as assistant treasurer.

Today we ordain Jack Williams and Steve Hartman as our two newest deacons. This will happen after this morning services and just after the pot luck lunch. Please stay if you can, even if you didn’t bring a pot, for you can bring two pots next time.

Please remember to continue to pray for Debbie Wishon and her family, as she continues her personal battle with cancer.

REVIVAL – April 17-22. Music by Crawford and Company. Revivalist Kenny Ward. He and his wife and nine children will be staying at the home of Charles and Blanche. Meals for their lunches and suppers, to be served at the Family Life Center, will be provided by church members. A sign up sheet for this is available in the vestibule.

We still have some audio cassettes to give away on the small table by the front doors. An updated Prayer Chain list is also available. If you wish to be added to our Church Prayer Chain please see Pat Anders. We have our “Through the Bible Chronologically in 2011” list for April on both the vestibule table, and on our church website. And as you leave, check out our new bulletin board.

Our monthly Business Meeting as well as our second Sunday Pot Luck Dinner will be next week, at their usual times.

Two of our deacons have been under the weather of late. Bro. Roger Crosswhite and Bro. Arnold Landers. Your prayers are requested.

A meeting of teachers and listeners for our AWANA program is planned for this month. Additional workers are always needed for this program. If you wish to serve in AWANA, in any area, please let Bro. Ryan know. Young lives can be affected by what you say and do.

This church has grown beyond all earthly expectations and we need you all to be a part of it as we need every saint to do their part. It is our reasonable service to God.

In our church we have three trustworthy volunteers:
Money, Prayers and the Time Tithe
not only to help our needs as individual church members, but with the needs of others in the community around us. Are you contributing yourself, your funds – your prayers?

Be still and know that I am God.
