Volume II - Number III

April was some month!

We ordained two new deacons Jack Williams and Steve Hartman. Our revival saw its share of sleet and rain, fair weather and foul. There was also great preaching, great singing, great food and fellowship, with heavy on the praying. Several persons saved, but also some heartache. Our Evangelist Kenny Ward, his wife and children were with us for three nights with some old fashioned preaching, and then a death in their family forced their return to Kentucky. At the same time our host family, the Wrights had to leave for Texas for a family medical emergency. But our Revival went on, with Brother Ryan Crawford stepping up and in as the Evangelist, with Crawford and Company providing music for some of the nights that were left, with much sorrow and many prayers offered up for our two families as they faced their earthy trials. We have been blessed by Ed Bergen who created a new cross pulpit for our pastor, just in time for our spring revival.

Our monthly business meeting was productive including plans for fencing the parsonage property. Recommendations were given for railings to be installed on the churchলont porch, and a large church sign to be placed near highway 71. We have a note that will come due in August. And plans for the Puebla, Mexico, mission trip July 16-23, 2011 were finalized. Sponsors for several missionaries are still needed.

Our church activities are only increasing, to the joy of everyone, as this is an outward sign of a growing church that has been richly blessed by God.

The benefit for Debbie and Russell Wishon was an all around, job well done. Great food, great entertainment, great fellowship, and the silent auction as well as the donations were inspiring. Its success was due in part to the participation not only of our devoted church members, but of the surrounding community as well. Special kudos to Barbara Williams, Martie, Donna and our ever faithful kitchen staff.

We have has several new members added to our church choir. You are urged to come and join us in making great music for the Lord.

Men²eakfast and WMU (Womenͩssionary Union) meet every month. Both sponsor various church activities and they are always looking for fresh, new faces.

With school being out AWANA is over till fall, but Wacky Wednesdays will start Wednesday, 25.

Look out! The Hatfields and the McCoys are at it again! Pappy Hatfield (Jack Williams) and Pappy McCoy (Steve Hartman) have headed up the feuding families. A competition that has been fueled even further, as some blood kin have been separated, and put on opposite sides of the aisle. First week saw the Hatfields clan pull slightly ahead of the Mccoy youngins. But the feuding ain௶er yet! Both clans have been sworn to use the Kamisado rules of engagement. [Make p as you go along fellas.] And if you are not part of a clan, then just select whom you wish to drink from the same barrel with, and have that Pappy add you to his list. Then, at the end (Fathers Day Sunday) there will be prizes awarded to the winning ᭩ly.ྍ Our sincere thank you to all who donated aluminum cans to the Bible Searchers Sunday school class. With the money we were able to go to the Fellowship of Christian Razorfest in Fayetteville, and it payed for all their expenses, and we are having an outing in the country May, 28, as a graduation party with the funds that were left over. Boys who will be in 5th grade this next school year are also invited to this outing. [See Samবyer for more details.] The class is also discussing giving a donation to the flood and tornado victims.

Our Church Prayer Chain has been working on over-drive of late. True, it does take a bit of your time, but it is time very well spent. Just ask the benefactors of such corporate prayer, how they feel about it. And if you wish to be added, please see Pat Anders, and she will fix you right up.

Quiet celebration followed the spectacular operation that removed Osama Bin Laden from his rampage of destruction that he and his followers accomplished in this earth. Our hats are off to all the brave individuals who brought this all about, as well as to the virtual army of folks who worked for years behind the scenes to see that this mission was accomplished so successfully.

TRIVIA:
There are 75 trillion cells in the average personୡke up. Each with a distinct duty or if enough of them don෯rk, the body dies. God is so great, even when it comes to the most small of His creation.

Got a penny? Look closely at it. Three simple phrases are inscribed on it. 1) E. PLURBUS UNUM. 2) IN GOD WE TRUST. 3) LIBERTY. These three things make America great. Next time I will list their meanings.

The Library always has a need of tenderly used Christian related books, and my Sunday school class needs a 2 or 4 drawer filing cabinet. See Pat Anders or Sam Story if you can help with either project.

If you know of someone in our community who needs food or clothing, please let our pastor know. Our congregation has been most generous when it comes to this kind of giving, and its support our food/clothing pantries.

If you aren࣯ming on Wednesday or Friday or Sunday nights Bible study you can૮ow what you are missing out on. Sometimes the pastor saves some of his best tidbits for this time. Come and see if you donࡧree.

Our youth program is moving right along. Brother Ryan has a number of events in the works at present. It is so very good to see a church with youth in it. The youth ARE tomorrowࣨurch and we can loose this little custom in just one generation if we are not dutiful and faithful to our youth. It is so very satisfying to see a row of youth up front, at the back, seems they are EVERYWHERE now. Doing little things for the members of our church, that in reality, are not all that small a gift after all. Finally, the young peoples golf team took second place in the Joplin Tournament.

Both Sunday School and AWANA have grown this past year. So much so that we are now needing yet another bus and drivers. Let us pray that this is a trend that continues. And it is nothing short of marvelous and miraculous when a child is responsible for getting an entire family involved in church.

Coming up soon orial Day Ⲿ If you can read this thank a teacher 좲> and if it is in English, thank a soldier ༢r> The world is facing many calamities right now and America is bearing a heavy load. We can help not only monetarily but also with some heavy duty praying.

See you in church!
